Located just West of Portland, Hillsboro is the fifth-largest city in Oregon and the county seat of Washington County. Hillsboro was founded in 1842 by European settlers. Hillsboro grew along with the expansion of the Oregon and California railroads, and today the city is home to some of the biggest tech companies in the country. Hillsboro and the surrounding area are called “Silicon Forest.”
 
Hillsboro’s neighborhoods offer a variety of real estate options. Homebuyers can choose from sprawling single-family homes and mansions to condos and townhouses that are in close proximity to a semi urban feel of shops and restaurants.

808 Grinds brings the taste of Hawaii to your table for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some menu favorites include shoyu chicken, pulled pork, and loco moco. Amelia’s Mexican Restaurant offers a variety of traditional Mexican dishes prepared using the freshest ingredients and handmade tortillas.
 
ABV Public House is an excellent place to wind down after a hard day’s work. It has 34 taps and over 600 bottles of beers, cedars, and wines. The restaurant also serves creative pub food. Champion’s Sports Bar & Grille is another great place to hang out with friends, catch a game, eat great food, and enjoy happy hour specials. 
 
The Streets of Tanasbourne is the perfect place to shop. The open-air retail center offers convenience with more than 50 shops, including Ann Taylor, Victoria’s Secret, and Abercrombie & Fitch. There are also eight restaurants where you can grab a bite after your shopping spree.

Five Oaks Museum, located at Portland Community College Rock Creek, features fun and educational exhibits that revolve around the rich history of northwest Portland. You’ll find a fine collection of fossils, crystals, petrified wood, meteorites, and more at the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals. At the same time, the Washington Fair County Complex is an excellent place to catch live concerts, trade shows, car shows, and more. 
 
With more than 1600 acres of parks in Hillsboro, there are also plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. Whether bird watching at the Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve, hiking and picnicking in Rood Bridge Park, or playing basketball at 53rd Avenue Community Park, you’re never out of options.
